“Mighty Warrior” Kang Ji Won will meet Marcus “Buchecha” Almeida with heavyweight contendership on the line in their colossal showdown.

The South Korean burst onto the scene in 2021 by scoring two stunning knockouts. First, Kang put Mehdi Barghi out at ONE: Unbreakable III in February to announce his presence in Asia’s largest sports media property. He then followed it up with an even more shocking knockout when he iced Amir Aliakbari at ONE: Fists of Fury II one month later.

The back-to-back KOs for the undefeated heavyweight shot him to the top of the division and proved he could handle the elite wrestlers in the division. However, a new grappling challenge awaits at ONE: Winter Warriors.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu legend “Buchecha” arrived in ONE in 2021 and quickly showed his ground game with a first-round north-south choke over Anderson “Braddock” Silva at ONE: Revolution. The victory kickstarted his mixed martial arts career on the right note and showed he would be ready for anybody.

A victory for the “Mighty Warrior” will mean he will have asserted himself as one of the top challengers for the ONE Heavyweight World Championship by defeating three world-class grapplers. His fast hands and KO power makes him a threat to the throne. However, if Almeida can steal his thunder, the Brazilian becomes a top contender for 2022.

This striker vs. grappler matchup has all of the makings of one of 2021’s best heavyweight battles. 100% finishing rates for both men means this will likely end before the final bell, and fans will not want to miss the heavyweight leather being slung in Singapore.
