Tate had trouble with Vieira's superior height and reach all fight, frequently having to leap forward to throw her strikes. Though she landed some, Vieira punished her with hard counter shots. Ignoring her corner's advice to bring the fight to Tate, Vieira allowed the former title holder to come forward throughout. But it was Vieira who consistently landed the more damaging blows. She hit Tate with a big knee to the body in the final round and followed up with a right hand that had blood gushing from Tate's nose. By the end of the fight Tate's face was a crimson mask as Vieira took the unanimous decision.
But at the end of the first Rodriguez lost his balance attempting a flying knee and went down with Holloway immediately following him to the ground to end the round on top. It was a theme that would repeat itself throughout the fight with Rodriguez's kicking heavy approach leaving him vulnerable to slips and takedowns. Holloway began to assert himself in the second round backing Rodriguez up with harder punches and again ended the round on top when Rodriguez lost balance. As the fight progressed, Rodriguez threw fewer of the calf kicks he'd used so effectively in the first round while Holloway continued to score takedowns and build up ground control time to seal the victory.

Usman certainly looked that way to begin Saturday's fight controlling things early for the first two rounds, dropping Covington with a big left hook at the end of the second. But Covington picked it up in the third and began to lead the exchanges landing some crisp punching combinations. He continued to push the action over the second half of the match as Usman seemed content to fight at the same measured pace throughout. But Usman's punches appeared just a little sharper and that was enough to gain him the unanimous decision.
The co-main event was another rematch that turned into a tight affair as Rose Namajunas retained her women's strawweight belt over Weili Zhang by split decision. Namajunas couldn't stop Zhang's takedowns throughout the fight but did manage to end up on top at the end of several rounds which was enough to sway the judges.
