Former UFC women's bantamweight champion Miesha Tate got most of the attention all week but in the end Ketlen Vieira got the victory turning in a solid, workman-like performance to decision Tate in Saturday's UFC Fight Night main event from Las Vegas. Known primarily as a grappler, since returning to the octagon from a near five-year layoff Tate's supposedly reinvented herself adding improved striking skills. But she still appeared awkward in the stand-up often fighting with her hands wide apart which left her vulnerable to Vieira's stiff jabs.

Holloway vs Rodriguez

In a battle between one fighter known for his boxing and another known for his kicking, Max Holloway made good use of his wrestling and ground control skills to earn a hard fought unanimous decision over Yair Rodriguez Saturday in Las Vegas. Rodriguez, a taekwondo specialist, came out strong in the first round targeting Holloway's calf with round kicks the way Alexander Volkanovski did when he took the UFC featherweight title from Holloway two years ago.

Kamaru Usman defended his UFC welterweight title Saturday night in New York in a tougher than expected decision over Colby Covington. Since stopping Covington in their first meeting two years ago, Usman's three dominant title defenses have had people talking about him as perhaps the best pound-for-pound fighter in MMA.
