ONE Friday Fights 80 fans will remember the evening’s festivities inside Bangkok, Thailand’s Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, September 20, for quite some time with highlight-reel moments made as world class athletes looked to take one step closer to ONE Championship’s global roster.

The main event saw Yodnumnchai Fairtex pick up his sixth consecutive win in the series after outstriking Rak Erawan across three-rounds of high-octane atomweight Muay Thai action at the top of the bill.

Yodnumchai controlled the ongoings emphatically after thumping Rak with a huge right punch just seconds into the bout. From there, Rak seemed to have awoken as he attempted to start a firefight with his foe, but Yodnumchai remained cautious.

The 20-year-old served more of the same offense in round two as Rak began to wear the effects of his punches, landing heavy, sharp single strikes. The former oozed confidence heading into the final minutes.

Knowing a finish was needed, Rak attempted to drag his man into a slugfest, but Yodnumchai remained calm to avoid any unnecessary danger to pick up the unanimous decision and move to 6-0 in the series.

In the featured bout of the evening, Kongklai announced his return to the win column with a first-round knockout win over Deniz Demirkapu in a fast-paced 138-pound catchweight Muay Thai outing.

Demirkapu charged the Thai instantly, swinging heavy haymakers that were finding a home. But Kongklai utilized his durability to fight through the surge and land counters of his own.

And just as the Turkish-Moroccan hitter thought he sensed a finish, Kongklai looped a huge left hook to the head of “Bad Boy” to send him down to the canvas and render him unable to answer the count at 1:45 of round one.
