Roberto Soldic has had a difficult beginning to his ONE Championship run with one loss and one no-contest, but he will be looking to stem the tide upon his return to the organization in the near future. At least, according to his coach.
"It's been quiet for a long time about [Roberto] Soldic, prepare for the return of 'Robocop.' We've never chosen opponents, we've never rejected opponents. Roberto always wants to fight against the best possible opponents, the fight date and opponent are set, we're waiting for the fight contract," Ivan Dijakovic stated on Instagram.
Soldic was a highly sought-after free agent in 2022, following an impressive streak in KSW that began with a stoppage of now-UFC Middleweight Champion Dricus Du Plessis and led him to being a two-division champion.
The 31-year-old inked with ONE to make his debut that December, but his first entry was short-lived. Murad Ramazanov caught the Croatian with a knee to the groin that forced an early end to the bout, resulting in a no-contest.
"Robocop" was then part of ONE's U.S. debut in May 2023 with ONE Fight Night 10. Although he looked good early, former ONE Welterweight MMA World Champion Zebaztian Kadestam rallied for a shocking second-round TKO victory.
Since then, Soldic has been recuperating and getting back in the gym. Now, he appears ready to return to the global stage to showcase the skills that brought him worldwide acclaim.
No official date or opponent has been announced for the return of "Robocop" to ONE.
