You likely know that only about 1% of students ever follow through to become black belts. A member of our community, Willie "The Bam" Johnson, is creating a crowdfunded movie, "1 out of 100." It is a coming-of-age movie for youth in American martial arts. And, he is seeking input from you.
Are you up for creating a 30-60 second video for the possible inclusion in the movie, to be run during the credits?
Talk about how being a martial artist makes you 1% better every day or, if you are a black belt, about how being a black belt has elevated you to be in the top 1% of your community.
The directors will be reviewing the first thirty submissions, looking for the most heartfelt presentation for inclusion. This clip may include video of your talent as well as your thoughts.
In addition to the movie, your gift will help to give out 100 scholarships and underprivileged communities.
Please share this with your martial arts family.
1 Out of 100: Donation Drive
Willie "The Bam" Johnson is a 7-time world champion, black belt magazine hall of fame, and star of the classic TV show WMAC Masters. He is doing this crowd-funded film not as entertainment, but as edutainment, to motivate and help underprivileged kids. There are many great martial arts film legends consulting on this file because of its purpose and its story of true martial arts values. At a time when the world needs heroes, we are calling on real martial artists to share their stories of empowerment through the martial arts. We as a martial arts community can be a part of history and answer this call-to-action. Based on the success of this film, a sequel is already in the planning stages and with a great video, you can be in the running for a future part, in this or similar martial arts movies.
