Amir Khan

Amir Khan has been a staple in ONE Championship's lightweight division. While he has fallen on tough times as of late, the Singaporean intends to rebound and move into the lightweight title picture.

However, on Friday, October 9, he is competing for much more than a victory. He will be competing for his father.

Khan's father, Tajudeen, was diagnosed with Stage IV lymphoma of the brain. The patriarch of the family has decided against treatment and was given 3-6 months to live, making Friday's match one of the last times he will ever get to see his son compete.

The father-son bond is strong as Tajudeen has been an inspiration for his son, and Amir has taken his dad along for the journey that has led him to the global stage of ONE. The Evolve MMA representative will attempt to give his father one more lasting memory when he meets Rahul "The Kerala Krusher" Raju at ONE: Reign of Dynasties.

Khan will throw caution to the wind and go for the finish to make for an exciting performance with his father's watchful presence hovering over him.

The father-son duo are in separate battles, but they fight against them together. Friday is Amir's spotlight, but the support from every martial arts fan will be given to his father, making it an emotional evening at ONE: Reign of Dynasties.

In Part I, aspects of fight choreography were explored, like the value of actors learning en garde poses and stances as to avoid a snake oil sensibility, and how camera movement and increased coverage helped to conceal and reveal the contrived nature of Cobra Kai's fights in Season 1 (S1).
