For the first time in over a decade GLORY, the world’s largest kickboxing organisation, returns to Croatia. GLORY 95 will take place at the Arena Zagreb in the heart of the nation’s capital on September 21.
GLORY can today officially announce a blockbuster heavyweight main event showdown at GLORY 95 between the number one ranked Levi Rigters (18-2, 8 KO) and Croatian superstar Antonio Plazibat (22-5, 16 KO).
In recent years, Rigters has emerged as the newest wave of Dutch heavyweights to take the kickboxing world by storm. Earlier this year the 28-year-old reached the final of the thrilling GLORY Heavyweight Grand Prix and almost knocked out the ‘King of Kickboxing’ Rico Verhoeven with a spinning backfist.
That night was a pivotal moment in Rigters’ career and it gave us all a glimpse of the full potential of his abilities. Since then, he registered a hard-fought victory over the tough & durable Nico Horta at GLORY 92. Now he comes up against Antonio Plazibat in a clash of two top heavyweights.
“This is a fight between two of the heavyweight division’s best,” said Levi Rigters. “I am looking forward to competing in beautiful Croatia but, unfortunately for the fans there, I will be the one with my hand raised in victory. This will be an unforgettable night in Zagreb. Do not miss it!”
With a history of devastating knockouts, Antonio Plazibat is one of the most exciting heavyweights on the planet. However, the 30-year-old has been out of action since last year after suffering a broken arm and now looks to make a triumphant comeback in front of his home country, vowing a knockout.
“Levi is just a body in the way. He will be knocked out and 15,000 crazy Croatians will cheer me on,” stated Plazibat. “Buy a ticket, buy the PPV, watch on Videoland, I don’t care, just watch this fight because you won’t want to miss it.”
GLORY 95 will be live exclusively on Videoland in the Netherlands, Bally Live & Stadium across the United States & Canada, DAZN in France & Belgium.
