The December 1984 Karate Illustrated cover featured a young Charlie Lee from Washington DC, with the headline "Tae Kwon Do: a New Generation." The future would prove the cover correct as Charlie Lee would go to become one of the most successful forms competitor of his generation. His moves and combinations still are emulated today by the Gen Alpha CMX competitors.
