#1-ranked contender Bokang Masunyane will meet #2-ranked Jarred Brooks in a three-round war to see who can punch their ticket to a meeting against ONE Strawweight World Champion Joshua Pacio later this year.

Masunyane is a perfect 8-0 in his mixed martial arts career and rose to the top contender’s spot following a massive head kick KO against Rene Catalan in December 2020. But he has been away from the Circle since that highlight-reel finish.

In his absence, “The Monkey God” arrived on the scene and began making noise to assert himself as the division’s hottest star.

Brooks debuted in November 2021 with an emphatic submission victory over Lito Adiwang before returning for a dominant showcase against Hiroba Minowa in January 2022.

After consecutive victories over ranked opponents, Brooks caught the eye of the champion. Although their collision course has seemed inevitable, one more roadblock stands in their way.

Masunyane’s return to the Circle will help determine the true #1 contender in the division for Pacio’s crown. The reigning king will undoubtedly be keeping an eye on the title eliminator to see who will be next in line for a shot at his gold.

The strawweight bout joins the inaugural ONE Women’s Strawweight Muay Thai World Championship bout between Jackie Buntan and Smilla Sundell and ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Champion Regian Eersel vs. Arian Sadikovic on the card.
