The Infinity National Championships, a premier event in sport karate, recently concluded at the renowned Kalahari Resort in Wisconsin Dells. Promoted by Mike Welch, Jeff Orlowski, and the Wisconsin Sport Karate League (WSKL), the event brought together over 500 competitors hailing from various corners of the United States.
New for 2024, Infinity partnered with USA Kickboxing to offer WAKO (World Association of Kickboxing Organizations) open weight sparring divisions. WAKO USA Tatami Chairman, Bill Viola Jr., was on hand to center referee the divisions and introduce WAKO rules and procedures for athletes who wish to attend the 2025 nationals team trials.
The adult champions were Cameron Klos of Team Kumite (Pennsylvania) and Ashley Johnson of Team NK (Minnesota). Junior Champions included WAKO Team USA members Xander Eddy (14-15 open weight) and Gabby Viola (12-13 open weight) who will also represent USA Kickboxing in Budapest, Hungary this August at the WAKO Junior World Championships.
USA Kickboxing is the only U.S. organization in the sport of kickboxing to have IOC (International Olympic Committee) & AOC (American Olympic Committee) recognition. The athletes compete at the highest of levels, qualifying in our National Championship Tournaments to earn their spots on the team to compete internationally at the Pan-American Championships, World Games and the World Combat Games. WAKO USA serves as the gateway to the Olympics. The World Association of Kickboxing Organizations (WAKO) the National Governing Body for the sport under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee.
