ONE Championship had Lumpinee Boxing Stadium on fire on Friday, March 22, as ONE Friday Fights 56 started with eight consecutive KO/TKO finishes.
At the top of the marquee, Ferrari Fairtex outlasted Mavlud Tupiev in a three-round war. The Thai star stayed out in front throughout the nine-minute contest and picked up his fourth straight win on the global stage.
But the story of the night was the insane finishes that awed the global viewing audience.
Kaenlek Sor Chokmeechai kickstarted the night with a first-round knockout over Ryuto Oinuma before Sonrak Fairtex followed up with a second-round KO of his own over Masaya Katsuno.
Back-to-back TKO performances followed when Rifdean Masdor and Changy Kara-Ool beat Pichai Lookbanmai and Sanlang Gexi, respectively.
Rak Erawan kept the finishes rolling with a first-round TKO of his own against Hiroyuki Ihara. Prakaypetlek EminentAir followed it up with a swift knockout against Petniyom FA Group in under two minutes of action.
The final two knockouts of the evening were accomplished by the hands of Tonglampoon FA Group and Jelte Blommaert against Kongsurin Sor Jor Lekmuangnon and Kritpet PK Saenchai. The eighth and ninth finishes of the night exemplified the electric event.
But the excitement was not contained just to the knockouts.
Sanpet Sor Salacheep and Yodkritsada Sor Sommai went all three rounds and delivered a memorable final frame. Sanpet connected over all three rounds, but Yodkritsada never wavered. In the third round, he finally began to come alive and had Sanpet reeling before the final bell sounded.
But it was too little, too late, as Sanpet was awarded the unanimous decision win. He admitted his surprise that Yodkritsada withstood all of the punishment earlier in the bout during his post-match interview.
In the co-main event, Puengluang Baanramba defeated Dentungtong Singha Mawynn by unanimous decision. The victory kept his ONE record perfect at 6-0, bringing him closer to a six-figure contract.
