ONE Championship kept the bout announcements coming on Thursday by unveiling the main event for ONE Fight Night 19.
ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing and Muay Thai World Champion Jonathan Haggerty will make his first defense of the Muay Thai gold against #2-ranked contender Felipe Lobo on Friday, February 16.
Haggerty moved up to the weight class after a successful run at flyweight. If there was any question if it was the right decision, “The General” answered that by eviscerating Nong-O Hama and taking the bantamweight gold.
Haggerty returned seven months later to secure the vacant kickboxing crown against ONE Bantamweight MMA World Champion Fabricio Andrade.
Lobo had his first shot at the gold at ONE X in 2022. He came up short against Nong-O. A year later, he returned to show he was still among the elite and took home a stunning knockout win over Saemapetch Fairtex.
The knockout sent him up the rankings and provided him with the opportunity to challenge Haggerty on February 16.
Both men are exceptional strikers who are constantly looking for the highlight-reel knockout. That means the stylistic clash should give fans plenty to get excited about in this high-stakes meeting.
Haggerty and Lobo will end what is sure to be another exciting night in Bangkok, Thailand.
