Black Belt Magazine showcased Hirokazu Kanazawa on the cover of the May 1987 issue. Widely regarded as one of the greatest fighters in Shotokan history, Kanazawa claimed the kumite title at the inaugural All Japan Karate Championships in 1957, the first major tournament in karate history.
Renowned for his technical mastery, Kanazawa would go on to be considered one of the most proficient karateka of his era.
