Nikolay Atanasov, the undefeated 23-year-old Bulgarian bantamweight phenom, has officially signed with BRAVE Combat Federation, further solidifying the success of the BRAVE CF – IMMAF Amateur pathway. Atanasov, a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt, boasts an impressive professional record of 4-0, with all victories coming by way of submission, showcasing his prowess on the ground.
Atanasov turned pro in 2022, delivering an explosive debut with a first-round rear-naked choke submission. He followed up with two more submission victories in 2023 and another in 2024, building an unbroken four-fight win streak that has captivated MMA fans in Bulgaria and beyond. His notable victories include IMMAF European medallists Denislav Hadzhiev and Oktay Arif, whom he both submitted, proving his dominance in the cage.
Before transitioning to the professional stage, Atanasov made waves representing Bulgaria at IMMAF events. His unforgettable bout against Muhammad Mokaev showcased his resilience and skill; Atanasov remains the only fighter to have knocked Mokaev down during his IMMAF career.
Beyond MMA, Atanasov has built a reputation as an elite grappler, winning medals at the European Jiu-Jitsu Championship and securing the title of six-time national MMA champion in Bulgaria, maintaining an undefeated record on the domestic circuit.
With BRAVE CF making its debut in Bulgaria earlier this year at BRAVE CF 86, the country’s MMA scene is witnessing significant growth, and Atanasov’s signing is expected to elevate Bulgaria’s status in the global MMA community. As he joins the ranks of BRAVE CF’s Bantamweight division, which is filled with high-caliber fighters, the future looks promising for Atanasov as he sets his sights on making a lasting impact.
With Mokaev also back on the BRAVE CF roster, fans are eager to see if the two will clash again. For now, Atanasov’s entry into BRAVE CF marks the start of an exciting chapter, both for the fighter and for Bulgarian MMA.
