Black Belt Magazine, the world's longest-running martial arts publication, proudly celebrates Black Belt Hall of Fame's Class of 2024!


Since its inception in 1968, the Black Belt Hall of Fame has recognized exceptional individuals whose remarkable contributions have left an indelible mark on the martial arts community.


Among the legends previously honored are Bruce Lee (Class of 1972), Bill Wallace (Class of 1973), Chuck Norris (Class of 1975), and Cynthia Rothrock (Class of 1983, who also received a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022).


This year's induction ceremony is scheduled for October 10, 2024, at the legendary Avalon Theater in Hollywood, California. The event will feature presentations from some of the most revered Hall of Fame inductees, enhancing the occasion's prestige.

His impressive victories and dedication during this grueling era set him apart as a dominant force.


In the 1970s, Stone’s charisma and martial arts expertise attracted the attention of the entertainment industry. His collaboration with celebrities like Priscilla Presley not only showcased his skills but also helped bridge martial arts with mainstream culture. Hatsuo Royama - Black Belt Hall of Fame 2024

Hatsuo Royama’s induction into the Black Belt Hall of Fame celebrates his lifetime of dedication and achievement in martial arts. From his early days as a devoted student of Mas Oyama to his esteemed role as a Karate Master and global ambassador, Royama’s journey exemplifies the spirit of Kyokushin karate through his unwavering commitment and profound influence.


Under Mas Oyama’s rigorous training, Royama quickly rose through the ranks, distinguishing himself as a formidable karateka in full-contact tournaments. Oyama’s philosophy deeply shaped Royama’s approach to martial arts, earning him widespread recognition and respect within the Kyokushin community.


After Oyama’s passing, Royama transitioned from student to master and ambassador, significantly impacting the global spread of Kyokushin karate. His efforts in regions like Russia were crucial in popularizing the art, and his role as the highest-ranking master with a 9th dan title continues to inspire thousands worldwide.


In addition to his martial arts achievements, Royama is a respected author whose writings on Kyokushin philosophy and techniques offer invaluable insights.
