Black Belt Magazine, the oldest martial arts publication in the world, is excited to announce the Class of 2024 for the Black Belt Hall of Fame!


Since its inception in 1968, the Black Belt Hall of Fame has recognized exceptional individuals who have made a significant impact on the martial arts community. Notable past honorees include icons like Bruce Lee (Class of 1972), Bill Wallace (Class of 1973), Chuck Norris (Class of 1975), and Cynthia Rothrock (Class of 1983, with a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2022).


The induction ceremony for this year will take place on October 10, 2024, at the historic Avalon Theater in Hollywood, California. The event will feature speeches from some of the most distinguished past Hall of Fame members, adding to the prestige of the occasion.

John Sepulveda’s induction into the Black Belt Hall of Fame honors his lifelong dedication to Kenpo karate. With over 50 years of experience and a 10th Degree Black Belt, he has significantly influenced the martial arts community. As a devoted student of Ed Parker, he embraced rigorous training and philosophical teachings, instilling values of discipline and respect.


Through his leadership at Advanced Kenpo Training Systems (ATKS), Sepulveda has impacted over 10,000 students worldwide. His training focuses on developing not just speed and power, but also character, ensuring that his students embody respect, humility, and integrity.


Beyond teaching, Sepulveda has made notable contributions to the martial arts community through television appearances and articles, sharing his expertise and insights. His commitment to preserving the legacy of Kenpo inspires countless practitioners to pursue excellence. His induction celebrates both his remarkable achievements and his enduring impact on the martial arts world.
