The anticipation is palpable as the UFC returns to Australia for the monumental UFC 305 event, featuring a clash of titans: Dricus Du Plessis vs. Israel Adesanya at Perth’s RAC Arena on August 18.

This event not only showcases the newly crowned middleweight champion Dricus de Plessis against the former titdu leholder and current No.2 contender, Israel “The Last Stylebender” Adesanya, but also marks the third major UFC Pay-Per-View event in Perth.

Following the immense success of previous events like UFC 221 and the record-breaking UFC 284, which collectively brought in an estimated AUD $42.8 million in economic benefits, UFC 305 is set to elevate the local sporting scene once more.

Tickets are poised to sell fast, becoming available on Friday, July 5, with a limit of six per person, ensuring a packed arena for this electrifying championship bout.

Peter Kloczko, UFC's Vice President for Australia and New Zealand, expressed his excitement about bringing such a significant event to Perth, highlighting it as the most anticipated fight of the year.

Acting Tourism Minister, the Hon. John Carey MLA, echoed this sentiment, noting the event's potential to draw massive crowds and further cement Perth's status as a sporting capital in Southeast Asia.

The rivalry between South African champion Dricus du Plessis and the Nigerian-born superstar Israel Adesanya is set to culminate in this high-stakes bout. Du Plessis, aiming to extend his nine-fight win streak in his first title defense, and Adesanya, seeking redemption after a title loss last year, promise to deliver a fight to remember. Both fighters have impressive records, with Adesanya having previously secured five successful title defenses.

In addition to the headline event, UFC 305 will feature a robust lineup of fights including top-ranked flyweight Kai Kara-France, heavyweight fan favorite Tai Tuivasa, and several promising matches across various weight classes, ensuring non-stop action for MMA enthusiasts.

As the date approaches, Perth is ready to host thousands of local and international fans, contributing significantly to the local economy while offering an unforgettable spectacle of martial arts prowess.

With additional bouts to be announced, UFC 305 is a landmark event in the sporting calendar, promising thrilling encounters and potentially history-making moments in the world of mixed martial arts.
